   As a Peanut Scientist, in the Global Science and Technology team I work on various projects which are outlined below:• Origin Development (India & Africa), which includes Crop Improvement & Supply Chain Dev• Crop Improvement - Develop the strategy for High Oleic Acid peanuts (HOAP) in India. This includes Variety development & Seed increase of released varieties. Prominent results - 5 HOAP lines released in India till date – first 2 lines are in the commercialization phase and receiving good feedback on yields being better than popular varieties.Supply Chain development - Exploration, evaluation & dev of Suppliers. Includes process validations, Supplier Lab set up, Segregation Protocol set up & GAP development and implementation in India - supported by various research org like ICRISAT, DGR & JAU.Prominent results - Developed 2 peanut suppliers in India building their competencies to enable them to supply material meeting Mars specs. Achieved ~ 80% increase in yields & 30% reduction in cost of cultivation with GAP\'s.• Africa - am part of the team that is working to unlock Africa which will safeguard supply & unlock cost optimization.• Aflatoxin Mitigation Transformation: Strategize for Aflatoxin mitigation - plan new projects & mitigation strategies for Aflatoxin.• Cadmium Mitigation Project: involves short, mid & long term strategies.Prominent results: Sourcing strategies formulated based on results from the mapping exercise. Sub projects designed for the deep dive analysis in regions with higher levels.• Innovation Projects related to peanuts - Led project on Sprouted nuts & fermented peanuts where there was an opportunity to create a differentiated raw material/ product leveraging sprouted nuts targeted for specific health benefits.• Material Quality Management (MQM) Governance - review MRA’s for Peanuts and Coconuts as an SME (Subject Matter Expert).• Value Leadership Projects related to peanuts.• Budget management & driving engagement in the team.
