About Arun Chafe
Experienced Proposal & Design Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the wastewater treatment industry. Skilled in Process Designing, Proposal Making, ETP, WWTP, WTP, Customer Service, Microsoft Word, Engineering, and Strategic Planning. Pretreatment for wastewater. Have handy experience in Biological/Secondary Wastewater Treatment. Have worked on MBBR, MBR, SBR, ASP, UASB, etc. Have worked on ZLD projects. Have experience in Filtration, disinfection. Worked on RO projections, UF projections, EDI projections, etc. Chemical Treatment for Heavy Metal and other impurities removal. Basic knowledge of Desalination, DM water, softener, etc. water treatment processes. One of my key contributions was suggesting that process chemical consumption be calculated based on fresh flow rather than mass balance flow. This recommendation was accepted by my senior and technology teams, streamlining our approach and enhancing accuracy. I have been deeply involved in several large-scale projects. For instance, I worked on the 22 MLD HZL project from the ground up, handling designing, proposal preparation, and costing for a project valued at over ₹100 crore. Although we narrowly lost this project due to cost factors, the experience reinforced my expertise in balancing technical excellence with financial competitiveness. Currently, I am engaged in the 24 MLD m³/hr) JSW Steel ETP, Recycle & ZLD project, a complex undertaking with multiple challenging streams and intricate parameters. Additionally, I have contributed to the IOCL Panipat tender, focusing on design, BOQ costing, and engaging with clients and consultants to understand and address their requirements. Another innovative initiative I am part of involves Sodium Sulphate Recovery from wastewater on a BOOT basis. This project aims to significantly reduce salt generation, mitigating high disposal costs by converting waste into a valuable by-product. I am also exploring the feasibility of NaCl recovery from the same system. My experience spans various types of complex effluents, where I have consistently delivered optimal treatment solutions. To strengthen our knowledge base, I am also developing a databank for wastewater treatment studies, including comprehensive documentation and design guidelines. These accomplishments highlight my commitment to driving innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable solutions in the field of wastewater treatment and resource recovery.
