As a Full-Stack Web Developer at the Parent Resource Centre, I led the creation of The Incredible Playgroup Finder, a bilingual web app designed to transform how parents in Ottawa discover local playgroups: Spearheaded the development of a comprehensive, bilingual (English and French) playgroup finder application for a non-profit, significantly improving accessibility for parents and boosting playgroup participation Managed all phases of the project lifecycle—from ideation, wireframing, and development to testing and deployment—ensuring timely delivery of a high-quality solution that directly served the community\'s needs Architected and built a responsive, user-friendly frontend using JavaScript, React, and Next.js, leveraging Tailwind CSS for a sleek, modern UI adaptable across devices. Enhanced user engagement by integrating real-time, location-based features with Google Maps API and Google Sheets API, allowing for dynamic mapping and seamless data syncing that keeps event information up to date. Integrated geolocation features to personalize the experience, offering playgroup recommendations based on proximity, which led to increased user engagement and satisfaction Optimized backend operations to handle complex API integrations and data transformations, improving data flow and overall application performance, reducing load times by over 40%. Managed secure deployment to Vercel, implementing security headers to safeguard the application.
