   Note: Start June 2023 - 4 months input over 1 year - End TBD<< Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded “Development of Strategy for Dighomi Floodplain Rehabilitation in Georgia,” for the Tbilisi Development Fund. • The project objective (pertaining to biodiversity) is to elaborate the strategy document for development of the Dighomi Floodplain, including:(1) Overview the importance of the riparian forest and floodplains for the city ecology;(2) Overview the Georgian legislation and international standards about protection of environment, biodiversity, forestry etc;(3) Scientifically describe role of the riparian forest and floodplains in mitigation of climate change impacts and their contribution in the fulfilment of the Georgian commitments towards international conventions and commitments;(4) Provide baseline data and scientific, historic data on the Dighomi floodplain ecosystem, geology, hydrology;(5) Conduct a biodiversity study with special attention to Red List species and vulnerable species and importance of the area for migrant species;(6) Prepare a plan for restoration and conservation of the riparian forest and floodplain.
