About Arthur Mitchell
Arthur has been an active voice for underserved populations and a change agent for issues of equity and access, especially in STEM education. Although he works with organizations to ensure that all student groups are being served, his most rewarding work has always come from the direct interaction he has with students in many of the programs the he oversees. In every position that he has held, he regards himself as the lead learner and then as a servant leader. His goal is to build the capacity of his team to effectively analyze problems and create solutions that keep the organization in an improvement mode.

The STEM Equity Alliance partners with institutions to address their need to more fully engage a rapidly diversifying student population in high impact STEM instructional delivery models that are responsive to the social and cultural contexts of schooling. Our approach looks at STEM as a prime driver of regional workforce and economic realities that is missing a significant talent pool due to the faulty design of current K-16 education systems. The STEM Equity Alliance works collaboratively with our partners and clients to improve equity in access, instruction, and services.
