Art of Startup was created to achieve synergy between my work managing a business incubator/accelerator and my academic research, which investigates how business incubators can leverage social capital to build successful entrepreneurial ecosystems. ABOUT ARTHUR BARBUT
Dr. Arthur Barbut is a leader in innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship, and economic development. With over 15 years of expertise in researching, building, and managing innovation ecosystems, he offers a unique blend of experience, knowledge, and a robust network. As CEO of the Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator, he has transformed the organization from a small 6,500 sq. ft. space into a thriving sq. ft. hub, fostering over 300 startups, creating 1,500+ jobs, and generating $50M+ in regional economic impact. Arthur also serves as a board member of the Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge (GAMIC), where he mentors startups in the automotive and mobility space. To date GAMIC companies have raised over $1.25 Billion USD in equity investment. His doctoral research examined the role of social capital in innovation ecosystems and its impact on startup success, demonstrating how strong networks create access to critical resources and accelerate startup growth. Arthur is an expert in connecting research insights with real-world applications to drive innovation and believes in the power of entrepreneurship as a catalyst to creating economic growth and long-term sustainability.
