As a member of the Alumni Advisory Board, I meet biweekly with fellow alumni to help strengthen and uplift the YouthBuild Just-A-Start community. Together, we collaborate with staff to improve the student experience and support long-term program success.•We’re currently developing a podcast focused on substance use and mental health awareness, aiming to provide real conversations and resources for young people navigating these challenges.• Our work also includes: Planning major events like Graduation and YouthBuild House Day Supporting student enrollment into cohort groups Sharing feedback and ideas that shape the future of the program•Each of us on the board is committed to personal growth and leadership development, and we’re passionate about giving back to the community that helped shape us.
