A Staff Developer sets short to medium term strategic direction for part of the technology stack, identifying areas of critical need based on future growth and develops roadmaps to attack problems. They act as the technical owner of large parts of our code base and lead the technical excellence of the system and contribute to technical training.Responsbilities include: anticipating technical problems that will fall out of major products and designing solutions to overcome those problems; analyzing root cause for architectural issues and suggesting corrective and preventative measures; advocating for technical backlog planning in Roadmap, SRP and planning discussions; reducing the complexity of projects, services, and processes in order to get more done with less work; creating sweeping improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.
