   Assists the (Metropolitan Planning Organization) MPO Director with administrative duties including asks associated with Board, Committee, and Work Group meetings and ongoing MPO programs.• Performs technical work involving the gathering, evaluating, manipulating, and reporting of data for transportation and planning purposes and the preparation of this material in a report and graphic format.• Undertakes varied assignments in the fields of urban and transportation planning which require skills in geographic information systems (GIS), research, surveys, computer modeling and methods, and graphics.• Collects, compiles, and makes computations regarding transportation and traffic planning including the effects of development proposals, zoning, subdivision, and other land-use regulations.• Attends inter-agency and department meetings and conferences to develop transportation planning strategies and procedures; serves as liaison to partner agencies and other City/County/State departments associated with the Waco MPO.• Prepares technical presentations and supporting materials for transportation planning and regional planning studies and presents materials to various audiences such as MPO Boards and Committees, City Councils, neighborhood associations, nonprofits, and the general public.• Assists in preparing staff reports for the Waco MPO Committees and the MPO Policy Board; participates on various committees and advisory boards, as directed. • Assists in preparing and/or updating elements of the Waco Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), Public Participation Plan Active Transportation Plan (ATP), and other reports as needed. • Utilizes GIS and TDM in assessing and forecasting traffic flow and congestion conditions; determines and recommends the development of highways and roadways and other modes of transportation consistent with studies.
