Meany Middle School- Head Counselor (7th/8th Grade)- June 2022-PresentMeany Middle School- 8th Grade Counselor (Jan 2022-June 2022) Intern (Sept-Dec 2021)-Draw upon data and using a network of counseling and academic interventions to design a comprehensive school counseling program each year-Lead a team of school counselors and social workers to effectively respond to student and building needs-Perform individual counseling in academic, social/emotional, and career domains with students drawing upon solutions brief focused counseling and person centered therapy-Plan and deliver group counseling in social/emotional, career and academic domains with students-Planning and delivering classroom guidance lessons to students in various areas such as social-emotional learning and Naviance-Communicating and partnering with community organizations and mental health providers to deliver resources to students and families for increased positive outcomes-Collaborating with staff and admin to support student achievement. Lead Student Success Teams to identify students in need of additional support and designing interventions to close achievement gaps-Assisting students and parents with technological resources-Serve as the building 504 coordinator. Maintaining and updating the 504s of 30+ students each year. I also help families with getting their students started with the 504 process and with evaluations-Crisis intervention for students. I quickly respond to students who are in social/emotional distress and offer immediate assistance-Designing and teaching the SEL curriculum for the students. SEL lessons are administered in advisory-Giving quality supervision to students in the hallways and cafeteria.
