ABOUT ALEXANDRE DIAS RAMOS

With a long experience of management and strategy in the cultural field, I use my knowledge to combine publishing and the Arts, taking into account the purpose and the audience of each project. I directed the Zouk Books for 14 years, one of the best publishing companies specialized in Art and Sociology in Brazil, which also involved a cultural centre, with an art gallery, three bookstores, a coffee shop and the rooms for courses and seminars (http://issuu.com/alexandrediasramos/docs/miolo_zouk_1-63). As an editor-in-chief, I worked directly in the creation of more than 120 books, some of them awarded by the Sao Paulo Biennial Foundation, ABCA Award, Açorianos Award, Fumproarte e Funarte. I organized the \"On the Work of the Curator\", which is the first book about curating in Brazil, and I wrote the book \"Media and Art: contemporary views\". My academical research (Masters, PhD, and postdoc) focused on the relationship between the exhibition space and its audience, on the perception and values (visible and invisible) involved in the appreciation of the artwork.
