As an article assistant in the Valuation and Financial Due Diligence domain, I was responsible for conducting comprehensive business valuations under various laws, as well as for internal review. In addition to this, I was also responsible for carrying out purchase price allocations of renowned companies.I also got the opportunity to be primarily engaged in the conduct of complex instrument valuation involving the application of option pricing model.My key responsibilities during my articleship (i.e the training period) at TRC included:•Conducting in-depth research on client companies, industries, and relevant regulatory frameworks•Analyzing historical financial information and projections provided by the client.•Computing appropriate discount rates considering market data, risk profiles, and company-specific factors•Building robust valuation models using appropriate methodologies •Coordinating directly with clients for information and clarification•Supporting senior team members in forming valuation opinions through structured financial analysis•Drafting detailed valuation reports•Preparing white papers on complex valuation topics•Analysing and reconciling financial statements with MIS reports, and identifying potential red flags.•Analysing specific heads of the financial statements, involving preparation of net debt, employee benefit expense calculations.•Assessing Quality of Earnings, normalised EBITDA, and working capital requirements.•Interacting with clients and target company personnel to gather relevant information and resolve queries•Drafting financial due diligence reports.
