ABOUT ARRON MACDONALD

I’m General Manager at Ipswich Trade Centre - a business focused on helping other organisations to have great first impressions through custom branded workwear and signage, as well as offering an extensive range of tools, fixings and PPE to keep your team safe and workplace compliant. In my role, I\'m responsible for the day-to-day operation priorities of the business, as well as overseeing business development, process improvement, commercial performance and management of staff; and am prroud to have overseen both commercial growth and significant process and customer service improvements during my tenure. I have a passion for both business and sports - particularly basketball. My experience in basketball is wide-ranging. Having spent almost 30 years involved in the sport, taking a number of teams deep into the NBL playoffs, building a club from less than 20 members to over 300, and representing the county as a Coach and player. I’ve played in the National League as a Junior and Senior, and also worked as a volunteer in the management of the sport within the county and region. and coonsulted with the UK Army. I\'m currently on a sabbatical from the sport, whilst I focus on my career and family, though stay somewhat involved through teamsports, and consulting with the clubs we work with. In my career to-date, I have worked in general insurance for 14 years, as a claims handler, but also as a QA Advisor, Recoveries Team Manager, Claims Consultant, Apprentice Manager & Team Manager. I also spent a year as a financial advisor and spent almost three years in Reinsurance at AXA Liabilities Managers as the manager of the Transactional Claims Team. I briefly moved into a role as Operations Manager at Absolute Group (East) Ltd, before assuming the role of Managing Director at Chase Trade Centre Ltd, a startup company focusing on business branding through print and embroidery, before moving into my current role at ITC.
