AppliedEpi is the non‑profit behind the Epidemiologist R Handbook, used by almost 2 million epidemiologists worldwide. Since early 2022 they have offered courses teaching applied R coding to epidemiologists, running over a hundred courses for dozens of Ministries of Health globally as well as the WHO, CDC and various other institutions.I was responsible for designing and creating several of the modules on data management and analysis, as well as the sole designer and creator of the Advanced Statistics in R course.I have lead or demonstrated on courses for almost a dozen agencies, including the Health Departments for Michigan, Wales, Canada, Cambodia, Kazakhstan.

Infectious disease epidemiologist and mathematical modeller with over a decade of experience turning complex disease data into decisions that protect lives, from outbreak investigations in the field to models informing policy at the highest levels of global health.I\'ve worked across the full spectrum of epidemic response: deploying with the WHO at the start of COVID-19, investigating outbreaks as a CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, modelling vaccine-preventable disease risk in conflict zones at Imperial College London, and now leading infectious disease surveillance for PATH\'s Epidemic Preparedness and Response team.Some of the work I\'m proudest of- Leading PATH\'s technical work on STRIDES — a USG-funded infectious disease surveillance programme operating across 35 countries worldwide - Estimating long COVID prevalence across Washington State, with findings presented to the State Senate and used to shape resource allocation - Modelling the public health impact of COVID-19 disruption on malaria control across Africa, published as joint first author in Nature Medicine - Leading an outbreak investigation on the Pacific Crest Trail that changed WA DOH policy on social media use in outbreak response - Designing the Advanced Statistics in R curriculum for Applied Epi, now used by epidemiologists across dozens of Ministries of Health globally
