ABOUT ARPITA SAHA
Hi! I am a CS researcher at SSD Lab, Brandeis University. I am working on designing and building a workload-aware, self-designing, and adaptive database for NoSQL systems. My research encompasses optimizing LSM trees using machine learning so that systems with dynamic workloads can benefit from higher throughput and lower tail latency by tuning to optimal configuration parameters. Previously, I graduated with a Masters in Computer Science from Ohio State University. As a graduate research assistant at Ohio State, I applied time-series ML models to real-world health informatics problems. I developed a GRU-based deep learning model that significantly outperformed existing baselines in predicting COVID-19 mortality outcomes and published a first-authored paper at ACM BCB 2023.
