About Aroshi Senanayake

With a robust academic background and practical experience in environmental engineering, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to any role in the field. My academic journey has been marked by significant achievements, including research on water and wastewater treatment, as well as resource recovery. Notably, my master\'s research focused on ammonia gas recovery from wastewater, achieving an impressive 86% recovery rate. Additionally, my undergraduate research led to the development of chitosan-based beads for fluoride ion removal from groundwater, resulting in publication in Bioresource Technology.As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia, I honed my skills in research, data analysis, and communication while contributing to projects in environmental remediation, water quality analysis, and hydraulic system design. Complementing my academic pursuits, my co-op experiences provided hands-on exposure to civil engineering, particularly in water infrastructure and environmental engineering. At the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, I was involved in large-scale water projects, gaining experience in design, construction oversight, and project management.Through these experiences, I have cultivated a passion for environmental engineering and a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
