ABOUT AROCKIA SELVAKUMAR AROCKIA DOSS

I am currently working as Professor of Robotics in Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. I have received Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Bharathiar University in 2001, Tamil Nadu, India and Masters in Computer Aided Design from Anna University in 2004 (University Rank 5), Chennai, TN, India. I did my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering ( Robotics - Manipulator Design) from Madras Institute of Technology (MIT Campus), Anna University in 2013, Chennai, TN, India. My research interests include Robotics and Automation, Design of Mechanisms, Computer Aided Design. I have 20+ years of experience in Teaching and Research. I have published 100+ papers in National and International refereed Journals and Conferences. Filed 7 patents in the area of Robotics and CAD/CAM/CAE and 5 patents are granted by Intellectual Property India titled \"Direct Torque Transmission For Rotary Application\"[Patent No. (2023)], An Orthopedic Wearable Device For Treating Patients With Cervical Spine Injuries [Patent No. 49••••••24)], Enhancement of Fatigue Strength Using Slip Ball Burnishing Technique [Patent No. 50••••••24)], A System to Identify Infected Leaves in Plants [Patent No. 50••••••24)] and Design of Cumulative Regeneration Charging System for a Conceptual Electric Vehicle Model [Patent No:512591]. I am a senior member in I was the Chairperson of the Indian Rover Challenge 2020 (IRC 2020). As a Convener I have conducted the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th International Conferences on Robotics, Intelligent Automation, and Control Technologies (RIACT 2020, RIACT 2021, RIACT 2022 & RIACT2023) in association with Teesside University, UK and Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Presented research papers in International Robotics conferences held at UK, USA, Greece & China. I am also involved in research and academic collaborations with Teesside University, UK, Nagasaki University, Japan, UTP Malaysia, Toyota Technological Institute, Japan, Yokohama National University, Japan, Cranfield University, UK, Nagoya University, Japan, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan, Northumbria University, UK. Further, I worked as Guest Professor at Hochschule Bochum Under DAAD Scholarship, Germany during 1st Sep 2023 to 31st August 2024.
