About Arnold Clayman

Arnold Clayman is Vice-President of Pharmacy Practice & Government Affairs at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists in Alexandria, VA. Previous to that he served as Vice-President of Infusion Services for NeighborCare at Home, an Omnicare Company. He has worked in hospital, home infusion, and for many years in long-term care, continuing to develop infusion as a part of comprehensive pharmacy services to patients and residents both in facilities and at home. He has managed the financial and operational aspects of these businesses as well as new business development, P&P, PI, accreditation, and regulatory compliance. He has been a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) since 1988 and served several terms on the ASCP Board of Directors as well as chair of the Board of Directors of the ASCP Political Action Committee and ASCP Advocacy Council. He also served several terms as President of the Maryland Chapter of ASCP. As part of the Maryland Pharmacy Coalition’s Legislative Committee he helped to plan the Pharmacy Legislative Day every year in Annapolis as well as working on regulatory issues throughout the year. He has been involved with the legislative and regulatory efforts of the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) as well as AAHomecare and the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. He has been involved in writing the pharmacy regulations in Maryland for Long Term Care, Home Infusion, Assisted Living, and Sterile Compounding and has had extensive advocacy experience in both the Maryland Legislature and on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
