ABOUT ABBEAH NAVASCA
As an FFAR Fellow and a Ph.D. student in Plant Pathology, I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of sustainable disease management in food and agriculture. With over ten years of R&D experience in banana research in the Philippines, I have developed and implemented innovative methods and technologies for diagnostics and field management of plant pathogens, especially Fusarium species. My research at North Dakota State University focuses on the diversity, cross-infectivity, and impact of Fusarium species in North Dakota crops using molecular tools. I am also involved in professional development and career guidance programs as part of the FFAR Fellowship. My goal is to bridge the gap between laboratory and field research and to translate scientific findings into practical solutions for farmers and the industry.
