Developed physics-based numerical models grounded in chemical engineering fundamentals to investigate miscible displacement in heavy-oil petroleum systems, emphasizing diffusion-controlled mass transfer and solvent–oil interactions.• Built and solved coupled mass-transport and species-balance models in COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate concentration gradients, diffusion behavior, and time-dependent solvent penetration under miscible conditions, addressing limitations of empirical EOR models.
