Dynamic trial lawyer who excels in court and in developing innovative systems for streamlining and resolving complex mass-incident man-made environmental catastrophes, as well consumer protection, commercial disputes, and class action matters. Served as court-appointed lead and co-lead trial counsel in dozens of high-stakes trials and arbitrations on behalf of plaintiffs impacted by environmental disasters, predatory and anti-consumer conduct, and all manner of corporate misconduct.I have tried more than 40 cases in state and federal forums and secured more than $900 million for my clients. Among other notable representations, I currently serve as court-appointed co-lead counsel in the largest inverse condemnation case in U.S. history on behalf of 1600 landowners whose property the Army Corps of Engineers intentionally submerged with dammed stormwater after Hurricane Harvey. After a two-week liability trial in May 2019, I won a landmark ruling establishing the government’s Fifth Amendment liability for taking a periodic easement to flood the citizens’ property. I am a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors and Law360 Trial Editorial Board.
