As the UK’s largest water and wastewater services provider, Thames Water operates Europe’s largest wastewater treatment works at Beckton, London. The company supplies clean water to 15 million customers and treats 4.6 billion litres of wastewater daily, ensuring reliable and environmentally responsible services across London and the Thames Valley. Thames Water generates around 140 GWh of renewable electricity annually through anaerobic digestion and combined heat and power (CHP) plants, contributing to its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Responsibilities:•Provided technical support to wastewater treatment sites, enhancing process performance, asset availability, resilience and power generation.•Led efforts to optimize treatment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and cost reduction.•Oversaw process investigations, recovery operations and mitigation strategies to maintain and improve operational efficiency.•Collaborated with cross functional teams and stakeholders to implement effective solutions and align with strategic goals.•Managed and optimized power generation processes at treatment sites, focusing on maximizing renewable energy production and improving overall energy efficiency while minimizing energy and chemical usage•Developed and executed strategies to reduce waste, enhance efficiency and support sustainability objectives.
