I oversee all in house legal affairs at Vertical Future that stem from the exciting advanced vertical farming solutions we offer, comprising: 1. Technology and Engineering: Proprietary hardware and software solutions, designed, built and installed (fully-automated vertical farms systems, driven by software). R&D: Discovery and scientific advancement (crops, food and technology scientific research that is synergised with the vertical farming solutions offered) My unique circumstance as the first professional legal hire at Vertical Future has allowed me to perform two exciting interconnected roles: acting as both counsel and company secretary. Beyond legal knowledge and documentation management skills, these roles require me to have a comprehensive understanding of the business rationale and commercial drive behind Vertical Future’s products and services, so that my work output can best accommodate our business objectives. In my role as counsel, my responsibilities include structuring strategic projects and relationships between Vertical Future and its client partners, by preparing, reviewing and managing various paperwork that brings the business relationship to life, ranging from: 1. Construction and supply, and operations 2. Partnerships and investments with strategic partners (joint ventures, MOU, and collaborations) such as institutional investors, theme-focused funds and sovereign wealth) 3. Academic and research (R&D and government grant contracts) 4. Intellectual property rights and know-how: Patents, data and other intangible assets that bring additional value Additionally, in my role as the Company Secretary, my responsibilities include: 1. Managing Board Meetings, communications and correspondence 2. Conducting statutory filings to ensure Vertical Future’s regulatory compliance and good corporate governance 3. Liaison with existing and new investors, including on legal affairs and fundraising efforts
