Work within the audit department dealing mainly with Oil and Gas, Retail and Advertising clients. Clients range from small non-listed businesses to large multinational / listed groups operating in the FTSE250 and FTSE100. Current role involves audit and analytical review work.Key Responsibilities:• Audit of large technically complex FTSE100 companies such as Tesco, Glencore, WPP and BP• Ensuring execution of high quality PCAOB standard audits• Building relationships with clients of varying levels of seniority from senior accountant to CFO• Understanding relevant accounting standards and critically reviewing company-only and consolidated statutory accounts• Performing analytical review of audit documents• Review client accounting and operating procedures and systems of internal control including SOX controls• Providing assurance through testing of technical balances within the financial statements, using audit methodology and the risk based approach• Demonstrating the ability to plan and manage projects/engagements ensuring tight deadline for deliverables are met• Developing and mentoring junior staff members• Attending internal training to develop technical skills in the ever changing reporting environment, whilst also improving upon softer skills to become a well-rounded employee
