Dr. McSwain’s leadership experience includes several key roles at Central State University, where she served as Director of Online Learning (2021), Chief Online Learning Officer and Enrollment Management (2022), and Vice Provost of Access and Enrollment Management (2023). Dr. McSwain\'s extensive background includes securing over $4.8 million in federal funding for diversity initiatives and earning numerous accolades, such as the Education 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award (2022) and being named one of the Top 25 Women Chief Learning Officers by Women We Admire. She was also featured in the July 31, 2024, Higher Education Digest for her work championing gender equality and inclusion. Dr. McSwain holds a PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia and both her Master\'s and Bachelor\'s in Education from Lincoln University-Missouri. She has launched numerous successful online programs that comply with national and international accreditation standards. Additionally, Dr. McSwain serves on the Quality Matters Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) executive board and is a proud member of Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi. Her goal at Virginia Union University is to lead and collaborate in transforming VUU Global into a worldwide powerhouse of innovation and educational excellence. Dr. McSwain’s global vision and leadership will inspire and elevate VUU’s global presence, driving transformative change in the years ahead.
