ABOUT ARLENE BARROW

Hi, I\'m Arlene! I\'m a user-obsessed designer, strategist, and storyteller with a passion for making brands shine in their target markets. Over the past 8+ years, I\'ve designed and developed a wide array of materials and content. Marketing collateral, presentations, case studies, illustrations, icons, diagrams, infographics, user guides, playbooks, web content, social posts, emails. You name it, and I\'ve probably created it. I take a human-centered, research-driven approach to all my work, ensuring content aligns with both user needs and business objectives. My focus on users has led to consistently positive outcomes over the years. For example, after revamping critical buyer personas and developing a new targeted content strategy, my company\'s customer-focused content saw significant gains. New case studies had 560% more views and 107.1% longer engagement times within a month of launch than those developed using earlier strategies. Similarly, a comprehensive company intranet I designed and developed exceeded all target adoption metrics by 23-47%.No matter the project, my goal is always to deliver content that empowers users, solves problems, and drives meaningful outcomes. Through my extensive experience in complex project management, qualitative and quantitative research, content strategy, and design, I’ve gained the wide variety of skills needed to ensure that user needs and business objectives are met. My drive for learning new skills is a throughline in both my professional and personal life. I’m an incurably curious person, and it was this need for knowledge that drove me to earn my M.A. in Integrated Design. The program deepened my passion for delivering user-focused solutions, giving me a new toolset to help me better understand and connect with target audiences. With my background spanning design, writing, and research, I\'m particularly adept at tackling complex projects that require a multi-faceted approach. This, combined with my empathy, focus on user needs (without sacrificing business value), and collaborative approach to projects, has enabled me to thrive in a variety of design and content roles. I\'m always excited to connect with other designers and content folks who share my dedication to user-centered experiences. If you\'re a brand designer, word nerd, research wonk, or user enthusiast, let\'s connect!
