Contributed significantly to the My-Doctor-Online (MDO) mobile app backend team by enhancing microservices and efficiently managing production tickets. Managed major backend releases, ensuring seamless deployment and integration of new features and updates into the production environment using Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD pipelines and Mirantis Kubernetes Engine. Designed and presented a proof of concept for MDO search APIs, integrating advanced search features such as autocorrect, spellcheck, boosted search, pagination and faceting into the MDO application using Apache Solr and Spring Boot. Implemented caching feature using Redis for APIs that fetch member details, significantly improving response times and reducing database load. Upgraded backend components from Java 8 to Java 17, Spring 5 to Spring 6, and Spring Boot 2.x to 3.x, while addressing various security vulnerabilities.Contributed to Kafka streaming solutions for sending real-time notifications about diabetes and cancer care to patients, ensuring timely delivery of critical health updates. Co-owned the MDO messaging API services hosted in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), handling deployments (releases) and bug fixes. Conducted knowledge transfer (KT) sessions for new developers, explaining the overall flow, microservice architecture, and functionalities to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
