About Aritra Mandal

I did my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry with an extensive background in time resolved spectroscopic techniques and currently working as a metrology engineer. During my doctoral and post-doctoral studies, I developed mechanistic understanding of charge transfer dynamics in condensed phase systems relevant to aqueous proton transfer, solar energy conversion, heterogeneous catalysis using ultrafast multidimensional optical and infrared spectroscopic techniques. Subsequently, I transitioned into the semiconductor industry, where I have been developing inline metrology solutions for semiconductor process improvement and process control. Highlights of my contributions at Intel include the following: o Identified relevant process steps where dimension and/or material metrology can aid in improving process yield and/or transistor performance and implemented metrology solutions in timely manner to aid Intel’s technology development milestones. o Worked on different segments across the entire front-end process flow for FINFET as well as Gate-All-Around transistor architecture. This encompasses Intel 4, Intel 3, Intel 20A, and Intel 18A technologies. o Developed and implemented metrology solutions using different analytical techniques including Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, XPS, XRF, Spontaneous Raman Spectroscopy. o Worked closely with suppliers to develop and procure new metrology capabilities as needed for development of Intel’s process technologies. o Represented the inline metrology team in several cross-functional team and program level meetings regularly. o Mentored several new hires of the team including process flow trainings and application of spectroscopic techniques in semiconductor metrology. Highlights from my academic work are as follows: o Understanding mechanistic details of charge transfer processes in condensed phase systems, as demonstrated by 18 peer-reviewed journal articles and several international conference presentations. o Extensive hands-on experience in working with ultrafast laser systems, optical parametric amplifiers, different types of interferometers and detection schemes, designing optical layouts required for experiments and implementing them. o Development of new ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopic techniques for studying excited state dynamics along the reaction coordinate. o Theoretical formulation of different steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopies. o Data analysis and simulation using Matlab, Origin, JMP.
