About Arindam Tripathi

I build and design interfaces and experiences where engineering, AI, and human behavior collide.My background is in computer engineering from NUS, but most of my work has focused on a messier question: how do you turn technically sophisticated systems into things people can actually use and trust? At L\'Oréal, I spent two years building ML-backed planning tools used by 200+ analysts across 10+ APAC markets — working at the edge of data infrastructure, product workflows, and decision support. That experience made me care deeply about how intelligent systems get designed, not just how they get built. That question brought me to UMD\'s HCIM program, where I work across UX engineering, human-centered AI, and spatial computing. Recent work includes mixed-methods UX research on digital wellbeing, prototyping location-aware AR with Niantic\'s Spatial SDK, and building tools that make AI interactions more responsive and legible to users. Currently seeking Summer 2026 internships in UX Engineering, Human-Centered AI, and XR/Spatial Computing.

   Leading development of a mobile AR application built through a competitive university partnership with Niantic, exploring novel use cases for location-aware, spatially-anchored experiences using Niantic\'s Spatial SDK.Working in Unity and C# to prototype and iterate on spatial interaction concepts that integrate multimodal AI pipelines for context-aware information retrieval within real-world environments. Project timeline runs through December 2026.
