About Arindam Jurakhan

With a diverse and interdisciplinary background, I bring a unique combination of creative, educational, and advocacy-driven expertise to every role. As a Film Composer, I collaborate with directors and producers to craft original musical scores that enhance the emotional and narrative depth of film, with projects including The Geechee Witch: A Boo Hag Story (2024) and I Know Exactly How You Die (2025). As a Recording Engineer, I support a wide range of music projects, ensuring high-quality audio capture and post-production, with notable work on the Beth Morrison Opera Workshop (2022) and the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra Concert (2024).My passion for education extends to my roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both the Thornton School of Music and Peabody Conservatory, where I taught music theory, aural skills, and professional development courses to undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to facilitating foundational music courses, I contributed to the development of original curricula that prepared students for diverse careers in music. I also mentored students on grant writing, project creation, and career strategies, helping them navigate the evolving landscape of the music industry. By fostering an environment of curiosity and growth, I supported students in exploring different career paths, building their personal brand, and adapting to shifts in the music field brought on by industry changes. Whether working with aspiring composers, musicians, or music educators, my goal has always been to empower students to cultivate their unique voices and excel in their careers.Alongside my creative and educational work, I have a deep commitment to social justice and community empowerment. As a Labor Organizer, I am currently building foundational structures for a newly founded union, organizing across multiple turf areas while aiding in contract enforcement and leadership development. My community engagement experience spans work with CIANA (Center for the Integration and Advancement of New Americans), where I led programs integrating immigrants into the community, and with Catharsis Through Sound, a grief support workshop that uses music to promote emotional healing. My previous roles as a Grief Support Group Facilitator and Hospice Volunteer further reflect my dedication to supporting individuals during difficult times.With a strong foundation in both the creative and advocacy sectors, I am passionate about using my skills to drive positive change, support personal growth, and foster inclusive communities.
