Sustainable Transportation Model Developer and Applied Researcher
The International Council on Clean Transportation
Sep 2020 — Present · Washington, DC, US
Worked in Model Development to build, maintain and review Python-based models to answer clean transportation policy, technology and economic questions and conducted Applied Research in support of other ICCT teams that used our models, led studies that were interdisciplinary in nature, supporting global analysis that required the use of our models, and led global policy and vehicle data tracking initiatives.ICCT Models: Roadmap (Global on-road transportation emissions), FATE (emissions health benefits), AZTEC (total cost of ownership for vehicle fleets), EVCHARGE (Light duty vehicle charging needs assessment), PACE and Polaris (aviation and marine emissions assessment models). I have worked with every stage of model development - from conception of new models such as EVCHARGE and AZTEC, significant upgrades to database and calculations capability of models such as Roadmap and FATE, addressing bug fixes and ad hoc questions from other teams on all the models, reviewing code written by other team members using the GitHub system, writing documentation and training materials, and conducting training exercises for other teams on model usage for all the models.Applied research: Led research on - Global ZEV Emissions Projections, US Heavy Duty MOU Assessment, Canada LDV Emissions Projections, India EV Emissions Projections. Supported research on - US Phase GHG Benefits Assessment, Soot free Road Transport in South Africa Health Impact Assessment, Fuel Efficiency Standards to decarbonize Australian transport, EU HDV CO2 standard targets, US HDV Infrastructure rollout assessment, EU LDV CO2 standards assessmentPolicy tracking: Global policy, sales, cost parity, and charging infrastructure tracking for the ZEV Transition Council as can be seen on the zevtc.org website - utilizing a PostgreSQL database.
