ABOUT ARIJITA KAKATI
I work at the intersection of technology and law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and data privacy. Since 2014, I’ve had the chance to work across a fairly wide range of issues in the internet and telecom sector—Advised software giants on topics as net neutrality, discriminatory telecom tariffs, white space technology to name few. My focus and practice gradually progressed towards helping companies assess and build privacy programs mapped to the risk appetite and applicable regulatory requirements. My practice scaled as I started building and managing privacy programs for global companies with over employees operating in more than 100 locations. I develop and implement risks and controls associated with privacy and processing of Personal data. I manage incidents and response plans, handle subject access requests, manage customer and vendor negotiations, engage with Works Councils, support internal audit, ESG reporting, and rolling out Privacy by Design practices. I enjoy working closely with business and product teams to assess and identify risks, build guardrails that drive innovation and further business efficiency.
