Senior scientist, currently working on developing novel Cas enzyme pipelines for gene-editing therapeutics, via biochemical/ structural studies and protein engineering to improve enzyme activities.• Over 13 years of research experience (academia and industry), and a track record in development of pipelines for purification, biochemical characterization and structural studies of large and challenging proteins, using bacterial and insect cell expression systems; and protein engineering. • Expertise in in-vitro reconstitution assays and enzyme kinetics for characterization of protein activities such as nucleic acid binding, unwinding, nuclease; dissecting protein-protein interactions, and biochemical mechanisms.• Executed cancer drug discovery projects: target identification, and small molecule inhibitor screening via biochemical and cell-based assays (immunofluroscence, FACS, reporter assays, viability assays, etc) to determine the mechanisms of genotoxicity and test synthetic lethality in cancer cells. • Demonstrated excellent communication skills to develop inter- and intra-organization collaborations in research.
