About Ariel Goldner

The impact of electronics is written into every layer of their design, manufacturing, and supply chains. I bring together mechanical and electrical engineering, Product Carbon Footprinting, and semiconductor systems research to uncover and reduce those impacts. My work quantifies the embodied carbon of microcontrollers, sensors, and boards, while also calculating the lifetime financial and environmental value of materials and resources linking carbon accounting with ROI. In connecting circular design, critical mineral reuse, and semiconductor supply chain strategies, I aim to make hardware both climate aligned and resource efficient. Now, as a Master’s student at Columbia, I’m translating this analysis into pathways that bridge research and industry adoption.

Experience

  1. Graduate Intern

    GlobalFoundries

    May 2025 — Present

Driving sustainable manufacturing and circularity initiatives across global semiconductor fabs.Developed methods to quantify the embodied value of recoverable materials in key process streams, enabling the identification of high impact recirculation opportunities and strategies to reduce device level emissions. Contributed to operational decision making by creating analysis tools for project owners, supporting traceability, and aligning materials and emissions data with circular economy goals.
