About Arie T. Feltman-Frank

Arie Feltman-Frank focuses his practice on environmental and workplace health and safety law, with a particular emphasis on complex contamination matters and emerging contaminants. Drawing on his scientific training and prior legal experience at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Justice—spanning enforcement, defense, and administrative adjudication—Arie brings a technical and strategic perspective to environmental matters. He regularly works with environmental consultants and technical experts to evaluate contaminant fate and transport, assess potential sources, and analyze remedial approaches, helping clients understand and manage environmental risk. He is particularly known for helping legal teams and clients translate complex environmental data into practical legal and strategic decision-making.Arie has experience advising on and litigating matters arising under the major federal environmental statutes, as well as state law counterparts. His work includes environmental litigation, enforcement defense, and regulatory counseling across air, water, and waste programs, including highly specialized regulatory questions involving unique industrial processes. Arie has particular experience supporting complex contamination matters and natural resource damages claims involving emerging contaminants, including PFAS and 1,4-dioxane. He also provides strategic counseling on evolving contamination risks and has helped position clients to avoid potential environmental liability.Arie writes and speaks on emerging environmental issues and is developing particular thought leadership around microplastics and their potential regulatory and litigation implications. Arie’s article, “Achieving ‘Some’ Upfront Certainty and Resolve in Superfund Settlements,” was published in the October 2022 issue of the Environmental Law Institute’s Environmental Law Reporter. He has also co-authored articles published by the American Law Institute, Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, Pratt’s Energy Law Report, and Westlaw.
