Review permit requirements for new raw materials and/or processes in collaboration with corporate engineers, plant engineers, managers, and other appropriate parties• Analyze production, material usage and other data as it pertains to permitting, reporting and ongoing compliance. Assist and review permit applications and draft permits for all sites; and work with sites to ensure permit requirements are understood and addressed, as required• Complete, assist and/or review routine monitoring, emission and discharge reports• Waste characterization to determine the most appropriate disposition (e.g, disposal as hazardous or non-hazardous waste, recycle, reuse, etc)• Assist sites in pollution prevention efforts as well as in identification of recycle, reuse and diversion from landfill opportunities• Manage waste management and recycle vendors• Provide support regarding industrial hygiene • Escort regulatory agency and insurance inspectors through routine and non-routine inspections• Respond to 3rd party inquiries, including but not limited to neighbor complaints and regulatory agency inquiries.• Coordinate/develop emergency procedures, including spill cleanup. Ensure appropriate equipment is selected and requisite training is performed so that sites are prepared to address potential emergency situations. Assist in retaining 3rd party standby emergency response agreements for situations beyond site qualifications.
