Conducted 150+ hours of research in the APTAMER Lab at UT Austin, targeting a diagnostic aptamer against Nanoluciferase (Nanoluc) to detect the biomarker Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE) in small cell lung cancer (SCLC)- Utilized PCR, gel electrophoresis, and oligonucleotide purification techniques through the SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment) process- Co-designed and presented a research poster at the Undergraduate Research Forum (URF) as part of the Aptamer stream cohort- Conducted independent research on integrating AI software into aptamer literature analysis using the Aptamer Database. 70+ Hours- Currently serve as a Group Mentor, leading students in learning lab procedures, maintaining a clean and safe research environment, and connecting aptamer research to real-world diagnostic applications in modern medicine- Research is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Gwen Stovall.
