About Aria Yang

Aria works at the intersection of capital, startups, and strategic storytelling. She is part of the team at YouLand, a Sand Hill Road–based private credit and real estate lending platform, where she focuses on partnerships, marketing, and ecosystem initiatives supporting the company’s network of investors, developers, and operators. Her work sits close to the capital side of the business, translating lending strategies and market signals into clear narratives for founders, operators, and investors.Alongside her role, Aria is active in the Bay Area startup ecosystem. She helps organize founder and investor gatherings and works closely on partnerships and sponsorships for the DECODE Conference, part of DECODE, one of the largest cross-campus founder communities connecting entrepreneurs across Stanford and UC Berkeley. She has also taught a workshop at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology on founder-led marketing and tech PR, served as a judge for student startup competitions, and participated in panels supporting students from non-traditional backgrounds entering the tech industry.Previously, Aria was an editor and journalist at Business Insider and Financial Times China, where she covered startups, venture capital, and emerging technologies. Her reporting reached more than 5 million readers, translating shifts in technology and venture markets into narratives accessible to a broader audience.She holds a Master’s degree from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and is originally from Sichuan, China.
