ABOUT ARIANNA KOUDOUNAS
I\'ve spent the past decade advancing transportation-land use connections, quantifying high-performing green infrastructure, and facilitating aging in place interventions. I manage staff, projects, budgets, and deliverables with the attention they deserve. At WSP my work centers around organizational change management, ranging from zero-emissions bus (ZEB) fleet transitions to workforce recruitment and retention, operational safety, fare collection, capital forecasting and more. Key collaborators include MDOT (MTA, MWAA, TSO), DDOT, VDOT, BCDOT, WMATA, DASH, Amtrak, and a range of municipalities locally and nationally. Since 2020 I have served as faculty in Georgetown University’s Planning program where I guide graduate students in the completion of their master’s theses. Prior to joining WSP I served as a regional transportation planner at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; the research program manager at the Landscape Architecture Foundation; and as the senior program officer at Partners for Livable Communities. I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association, and the Women’s Transportation Seminar. I hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from New York University and a master’s in urban and regional planning from Georgetown University.
