About Ari Leandry

Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, Ariana graduated from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative American Studies, minor in Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies and a Journalism concentration. In the Spring of 2020, she was elected as Lorain 3-C Representative in the Lorain County Democratic Central Committee, making her the youngest elected official in Lorain and the youngest woman of color elected official in Ohio. On campus, she was a peer advocate and educator at the Oberlin Sexual Information Center, a sexualized violence prevention trainer through the Title IX office, a Law and Justice Scholar, and a Bonner Scholar. She also co-founded Coronavirus Oberlin Mutual Aid Fund (COMA), a mutual aid organization that raised over $65K to support first-generation and/or low-income students. Passionate about reproductive health, she has worked alongside NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio as a researcher and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio in their Digital Defenders program. She intends to pursue a JD following undergrad.
