About Ari Lucia

After graduating from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration and Sociology, I made my official start in accounting at Redapt, Inc. Beginning as a contractor, I earned my full-time position through my unrelenting hard work, incredible attention to detail, and collaboration on process improvements. I now use these skills in my current position at PayScale, Inc. while continuing to learn and improve.I run full cycle AP, reconcile and post monthly credit cards and bi-weekly expense reports, work closely with employees and vendors on payment inquiries and resolving discrepancies, as well as run ad hoc supporting reports to provide backup data when needed. Aside from my regular daily duties, I am also training to be an administrator on the accounting software NetSuite, have had the opportunity to spearhead a project to research and implement an expense reporting software to be used by the whole company, and have implemented an electronic process to track vendor invoices. Occasionally, I work closely with our sales and legal teams to review and approve sales deals through Salesforce.Before PayScale, I worked at Redapt as an Accounting Associate. It\'s there that I started my career running full cycle AP, including entering invoices through our PO system, verifying approvals and cutting weekly checks. I worked cross-functionally for approvals, ensuring shipments had arrived and invoices were ok to pay. During my time in school, I interned at Royal Neighbors of America, a fraternal life insurance company located in Rock Island, IL. I worked under the Product Development department for my first summer there, but when invited back I got the opportunity to work with several other departments, including Finance, Investment, Actuarial, Marketing, and Accounting.
