Responsibilities-Book all travel for sales and management teams (air, rail, lodging, car rentals)-Solely responsible for monitoring multiple, concurrent trips (in the event of IRROPS)-Manage and enforce corporate travel policies -Provide insight into loyalty rewards-Creating and maintaining relationships with preferred vendorsSkills-Travel Management; having worked with (points-and-miles) bookings for 10 years, I come with a solid understanding of the airline and hotel industries. Between on-the-ground relationships, the ability to understand pricing variations, and a working knowledge of the competitive landscape, I provide value far beyond a simple \"flight booker\"-Problem Solving; inclement weather isn\'t the only issue I am up against. Airline equipment and last-minute personal issues are just a few of the other hurdles I\'m needing to work around, which regularly require me to change/cancel travel plans - sometimes just a few hours before departure. The ability to manage all of these moving pieces is what keeps me going and makes this job so fun and exciting-Communication; offering clear and concise instructions for travelers is key. Being able to both enforce our travel policy, while also offering to allow for certain individual preferences, requires quite a bit of juggling. However, I\'ve found that open lines of communication help to keep everything running smoothly (and more importantly, keep everyone happy). Detail Oriented; managing, booking, and monitoring travel for a staff of any size is not for the faint of heart. There are constantly moving pieces, and reps are always on the road. Trying to foresee problems and nip them in the bud before they cause serious issues is important, as one delayed/canceled flight could mean that a manager misses an important meeting.
