About Ariel Davila

Hello, my name is Ariel Davila. I graduated with honors (Presidential Scholar/Cum Laude) from Lehman College. I obtained my B.A. in Psychology (minored in Early Childhood Development and Education). I am currently enrolled in the CUNY School of Professional Studies for an M.A. in Developmental Psychology. I am contemplating my future options to continue studying either Child Psychology or Child Psychiatry for my Ph.D. I have many interests from culinary arts to writing and various arts. For example, I like drawing, painting, screenwriting, and more which are listed below. I developed various skills from different types of volunteer jobs and other work experiences, even with family and friends. However, I have more of an educational background, which makes me very innovative and diverse in the workplace, where I am able to develop new ideas and manage modern technology pertaining to various tasks effectively, such as social media, and various platforms like Zoom, Google Meet (etc.), and Powtoon (Video/Slides), Celtx (screenwriting), Adobe, Cloud, Microsoft, etc. My previous work history (shown in my profile) has taught me to communicate with people, think critically, analyze, listen, and focus intently on my objectives and the needs of others. I believe it is important to have compassion for others and to rigorously get involved within the community to learn from people as you help them in society. For example, I used multi-tasking skills and interpersonal skills, in the James Monroe Senior Center, where I volunteered to quickly attend to the needs of seniors efficiently as a kitchen aide and gardener helping feed seniors and help with their emotional, physical, and cognitive functioning, where communication plays a key role in their well-being overall.My goal is to help others, such as children and possibly seniors with various challenges they face (mental health, physical health, etc.) where my passion focuses on helping children cope with their traumatic experiences. I want to open my own private practice in the future, in psychology and possibly develop programs to train the next generation of psychologists to have more resources, and training, and help with financial costs for school. I am focused on earning enough money to support my family (especially those dealing with various illnesses). I want to be able to support myself and give back to my community and those in need. I want to encourage people to never give up on their dreams or passions in life and inspire others through accomplished goals, so the next generation can succeed in society.
