About Mohammed Arefeen
With over 30 years of industrial experience in variable speed drives, automation and power electronics applications for various sectors, I am currently the Global Product Manager, Automation at Weatherford, a leading oilfield service company. In this role, I leverage my experience and expertise in digital control of power electronics systems to develop and commercialize innovative automation solutions for the oil and gas industry.Previously, I was the VP of Engineering at Power Sentry, a company that was acquired by Weatherford in 2023. There, I led the development and launch of the Electrical Ride-Through (ERT) technology and the On-Site Storage (OSS) technology, which provide reliable and energy efficient systems for oilfield operations. I also hold seven patents and multiple awards for my technical contributions and innovations in the field of power electronics. Additionally, I am an Senior Member and a Six Sigma Green Belt certified professional, with over 50 publications in various conferences and journals. I am passionate about advancing the state of the art in power electronics and automation, and delivering value to our customers and stakeholders.
