Work as an expert in national security and defense policy to drive the integration and oversight of the Department of War\'s Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI) related policies and plans. As directed by the Secretary of War, and pursuant to Section 910 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022, carry out the implementation of Department of War’s AHI Cross Functional Team (CFT) responsibilities, by coordinating across the Department of War and US Government Interagency and academia on the AHI issue.• As specified in DoD Directive ‘Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Hemispheric Affairs’, the AHI CFT leads the Department of War (DoW) coordination efforts with the President’s AHI Lead Interagency Coordinator and other Agency Coordination Leads, including representing the Department in AHI-related interagency processes.• Support and represent the Assistant Secretary of War for Homeland Defense and Hemispheric Affairs in interagency briefings to Congress regarding the response of the U.S. Government to AHI, including briefings required by Section 6603 of the NDAA for FY 2022.• Serve as the DoW focal point for near- and mid-term efforts to improve DoD abilities to detect, prevent, and respond to AHI. • Oversee the development of a DoW strategy, including resourcing requirements and an accompanying implementation plan, for addressing the AHI challenge over the longer term. • Ensure that AHI issues are incorporated into appropriate programs of record, budgets, and DoD processes.
