About Amar Kulkarni
Amar Kulkarni is a Pune/Berlin-based Architect and an Urbanist who is currently working on Urban Space Research which focuses on Creation and Transformation of the Urban Spaces in relation to the Quality of Life. He develops strategies by effective and integrated use of urban planning tools, management techniques, and development policy frameworks. Amar, originally an Architect from India started his creative journey at a very early stage; born with an extremely curious mind, Amar questioned every ‘why’ and always had a research-oriented thought process. During his study in India, Amar observed Life, Culture and Biodiversity which strongly impacted his research work on Environmental Architecture and Urban Development Strategies. His work experience in India focused on Land-use Planning, Biodiversity Conservation, Water Management, Bioremediation Landscape Planning, and New Urbanism principles. He pursued Masters in Urban Management and Planning from Technische Universität, Berlin and successfully holds a Master of Science. For his Master’s thesis, he developed a Green Infrastructure strategy as a way to integrate urban infrastructure with natural infrastructure. While in Europe, Amar traveled extensively and got a chance to Attend and Present at an International Green Infrastructure Conference in Malmö, Sweden. He also got an opportunity to work with the Govt. of Kosovo in East Europe on Waste Management. Furthermore, he conducted Independent Research on Bicycle Infrastructure in Copenhagen, Denmark which was a notable experience. Amar actively addresses his social contributions and makes it a point to work independently for Shelter Adoptions & Animal Welfare in India.
