Amanda Baker is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Amanda has over 5 years of experience providing Psychotherapy to individuals, children, couples, families, and groups. She received her Masters of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University and has her Bachelors of Liberal Studies Degree in Psychology also from Barry University. She has been working with individuals ranging from age 2 to older adults in various capacities including Substance Abuse, Prevention Specialist, Career Service Coordinator, and Court Liaison. Amanda provided services in residential/therapeutic community settings, school settings, and in-home, strength-based counseling services. In addition, she is trained in treating substance abuse, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, conduct disorders, grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues, social skill development, life skills development, and parenting-skills development. Amanda’s therapeutic approach includes a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy, and Person-Centered approach. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and CHI Sigma Iota Barry Chapter. Amanda’s passion is to help individuals find their purpose in life and making a lasting impact on youths, adults, and families living with addiction and mental health.
