About Aravind Tankasala.

I am currently working as a bridge engineer at HNTB Corp. I strongly desire to pursue a career as a Structural/Forensic engineer where I aspire to use my analytical and design skills for company benefits and growth, my own development and learning.I completed my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Auburn University in December 2017. My Ph.D research, specifically deals with the early-age properties of mass concrete including foundations and piers. At the Highway Research Center and, in collaboration with ESCSI, I have been associated with multiple research projects dealing with early-age thermal stresses in mass concrete structures. I completed my Master\'s degree at Purdue University. My research project included setting up of rapid test procedures to identify the frost and alkali resistance of concrete. A secondary focus of my research was on new cement based materials, and I worked with a startup to evaluate their new concrete material. I have been awarded the prestigious Woltosz Fellowship for my doctoral research at Auburn University. As a Vice president for the AU ACI Student Chapter, I have encouraged active participation of undergraduates, including women and students from minority backgrounds, in national student competitions.
