Hi! I’m Arada \"Kate\" Buddhani — a Sophomore Computer Science student minoring in Quantitative Finance at Stevens Institute of Technology. I\'m currently a Tech Fellow at Cornell Tech’s Break Through Tech AI Program, where I’ve been building hands-on experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning models.At Stevens, I serve as the Public Relations Chair for the Women in Computer Science Club, where I help foster a supportive and empowering community for women in tech.Beyond academics, I spend my summers volunteering as a tour guide and translator at Patara Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I educate visitors about Thai culture and elephant conservation.    Developed a corporate bankruptcy prediction model using 18 years of financial data from U.S. companies, achieving 97% accuracy and 0.94 AUC‑ROC with a tuned Random Forest classifier, outperforming Logistic Regression and XGBoost baselines.Engineered 100+ financial features including multi‑year SMAs, MACD momentum indicators, volatility metrics, and key ratios (Altman Z‑score, Debt‑to‑Equity, ROA), translating raw accounting data into predictive risk factors.Implemented Time‑Series Cross‑Validation and SMOTE to prevent temporal data leakage and address severe class imbalance (~6% failure rate), significantly improving detection of at‑risk companies in real‑world forecasting scenarios.
