About Erickson
Ara operates at the intersection of sustainability, people, and forestry. As Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, she is responsible for sustainability strategy at Weyerhaeuser, the largest private timberland owner in the U.S. and one of the largest sustainable forest product companies in the world. In her role, Ara oversees working forests’ contribution to climate change solutions, the role of sustainable products in ensuring housing for all, and support for thriving rural communities. Ara is also a board member for American Forests, the oldest national conservation nonprofit in the U.S, and a founding member of the Women’s Forest Congress, a forum dedicated to developing strategies and solutions for forests through a female lens. Ara\'s childhood along the central California coast informed her love of nature and wild spaces near and far from home. Today, she lives in the Pacific Northwest with her multi-generational family and a three-legged cat, all who inspire her to continue finding solutions that help ensure a sustainable future for all. Ara is an avid sourdough bread baker, a novice flower gardener and a great fan of being outside.
